Background
On 17-18 September 2022, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Indonesia, organized International Conference of Advanced Veterinary Science and Technologies for Sustainable Development (ICAVESS) virtually.
One of the sessions of ICAVESS is allocated to AAVS and the theme of the session is veterinary education. AAVS Veterinary Education Enhancement Working Group (VEE WG) has agreed to lead the organization of this session focusing on best practices in teaching hands-on and clinical skills via online/hybrid lectures/simulation approach.
Objectives:
- To share best practices in teaching hands-on and clinical skills via online/hybrid lecture/simulation approach
- To discuss different ways to encourage students’ participation through hybrid/online education
- To assess the student’s level of clinical skills achieved through online/ hybrid lectures/ simulation approach
- To explore potential ways to collaborate/ share resources for teaching hands-on and clinical skills (e.g., information/experience sharing on skills lab)
